UNI the anthology

Each year I and a couple of my friends organize a zine in which new and young talented artists get an opportunity to show off their work. The continuous theme of the zine is "dreams", which is also a direct translation from Finnish word "Uni". Every year we choose a new dream-themed subtitle for artists to work with. The anthology consists of illustrations and comics mainly made by Finnish artists, but recently others too have been participating in the project and it's great!
Third book is coming out this summer including stories and illustrations revolving around "phantasmagoria".

But this is how it all started.

The idea came to us (Laura, Petrus, Teemu and I) one beautiful December morning. We had thought about it for quite a while since we all love comics and illustrations and I for once wanted to read more original stories. So we started to contemplate a project, to unite a whole bunch of young Finnish artists into one book. The best way, we thought, was to create a topic which has a lot to give and was easy to interpret. So we thought that dreams would be great, since most people have them and they are usually quite interesting. It wasn't long before we got a bunch of friends to participate.

And so UNI was born. Filled with great contents about dreams in form of illustrations and comics.
It was first time sold at Helsinki's Comic festival 2012

We figured that it could be fun and it was. It was so fun, that we decided that why not make it an annual thing. And since then it has been. This year we are publishing our third part of UNI and its theme is phantasmagoria.

Annika also joined our crew to make this project possible. She was also the artist behind out first zines cover art.
